Project History

Jason Coffman began recording as Anaphylaxis in 1994. His first releases were distributed via tape trading, with his first self-released cd (component) coming out in 1999. After a series of cd-r releases on his own anaphylactic shock recordings imprint, Coffman re-issued his catalog through Mannequin Oddio Media from 2002 through 2004. Coffman has appeared on various limited edition compilations and has done numerous remixes (official and otherwise) released mostly in mp3 format via the internet. Anaphylaxis performances have been few and far between, the most notable of which being a performance at the 2001 Cornerstone Festival featuring members of Signalbleed, Lackthrow, Mayfairgrin, and Havalina. Parasomnic Records released noise for lovers 5 April 2005.

Current Status

Active.

After playing several shows in 2006, Coffman and Horton are taking a break from performances to finish the next anaphylaxis album, Shell Beach. Coffman is also recording new pieces for another project called Promessa, and Horton is working on material under the names Engine Beach and Prairie Primitives (with his wife Sharon and Coffman acting as the live incarnation of the Prims).
