Automata is a Wiki developed for Christian underground music; more specifically industrial, goth, synthpop and related genres.

The goal is to become the largest knowledgebase for the Christian underground scene and to get there, we need your help.

[edit] What is a Wiki?

For some of you, this is the first time you have ever encountered a Wiki.

- A wiki? What's that? I thought this was just another website!

Yes, a wiki. You see, a normal website is just that, a website. You can read a lot of stuff, click things and occasionally enter some comments in the guestbook about how much you love the site and if you are lucky, there's a forum too. But if you see an error on the site or you see something that needs to be changed (like a typo), you will have to email the webmaster and wait for him/her to get round to updating the site. That is, if they are still maintaining the site.

Not so with a Wiki. A wiki is a place where YOU are in control because it is you who enters all the info. If you see errors and/or omissions in articles that you didn't write, you can simply change or add things yourself so that it's more accurate. And all yur changes and additions are instant, You will not have to wait until the webmaster has time to update or change the page for you.

You will also need to know that the info on a wiki is not a matter of "your text, my text" it is "our text". You are free to edit other people's text, but other people are free to edit YOUR text as well. It works both ways and this way, we are building a plethora of knowledge about bands, artists, labels and whatnots that you may or may not have heard of.
